Deadline Extended! 2024 Artificial Intelligence Trek, VIRTUAL, April 1-5, 2024
Are you interested in a career related to Artificial Intelligence? The Loeb Center is hosting a week-long virtual career exploration trek from April 1-5, 2024. There is no cost to participate.
Each evening, students will gather to participate in panels, workshops, and virtual visits with alumni and other professionals working with emerging technologies related to Artificial Intelligence. Through conversations with professionals applying AI across a variety of industries you will emerge with a clearer-eyed view of the field, understand a range of job functions and how to prepare for them, and meet a LOT of Amherst alumni who want to help you succeed.
Program Expectations:
Mandatory participation in “pre-trek” session on April 1
Completion of all pre-trek research assignments
Full participation in all group discussions, conversations with alumni, and virtual site visits
Participation in post-trip debrief session on Friday, April 5
Those accepted into the program will sign a contract committing to the program.
Questions for Application for AI Trek:
To apply, submit a resume and letter of interest via Handshake. The letter of interest should include responses to the following:
1. Why does a potential career creating or utilizing AI interest you?
2. What current development or topic in artificial intelligence is of most concern/interest to you and why?
3. What would you hope to learn about careers and applications of AI that you do not already know?
4. How do you imagine that this trek might impact your career exploration or decision making?
