Charles Hamilton Houston Internship Program Funding Application 2022

***PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: This application is for students requesting funding for non-Houston Program portfolio internship opportunities ONLY. DO NOT submit an application if you are seeking a stipend through the Meiklejohn Fellows Program OR if you have secured an unpaid internship with a participating Houston Program internship host.***

Students who are enrolled in the Charles Hamilton Houston Internship Program are eligible to submit applications requesting stipends of up to $5,000 for unpaid/low-paying internships not included in the program’s portfolio of opportunities.

In addition to being a Houston Program member, eligible students must be enrolled at Amherst the semester prior to the start of their summer internship and intend to be enrolled at the College the semester after. Students who are studying abroad may apply. Seniors graduating in May 2022 are ineligible. Students on leave during the spring 2022 semester are NOT eligible to apply for or receive funding.

Note that if you receive funding from another department (i.e. SURF, Gregory S. Call Summer Research Program) to conduct summer research or to support participation in a summer experience, you cannot receive an internship funding award through the Houston Program.

Because this funding is not guaranteed, students are strongly encouraged to seek out alternative sources of funding in addition to submitting a funding application through the Houston Program.

Review the Houston Program Internship Funding webpage for details regarding eligibility, funding amounts, and the funding process.

Email your questions to internships@amherst.edu.
