2021-22 Loeb Center Peer Career Advisors (PCAs)

Peer Career Advisors (PCAs) play a fundamental role in the process of offering students career guidance and advice through the Loeb Center for Career Exploration and Planning. 
 
As trained paraprofessionals, PCAs are expected to work approximately 5-7 hours per week doing the following:
 
--Offering approximately 2-4 hours per week of one-on-one advising appointments at the Loeb Center, Frost Café, first year residence halls, and/or the Keefe resource centers
--Assisting with outreach and education to the student body
--Planning and co-facilitating clinics/workshops on a variety of topics
--Assisting with clinic and workshop planning and facilitation 
--Assisting with maintaining relevant resources for career exploration and skill development
--Completing other administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned
 
PCAs are paid $13.50/hour.
 
Responsibilities
As a Peer Career Advisor, you will be trained to assist your peers with the following:
 -Writing resumes and cover letters
- Finding internship postings
- Engaging in self-assessment and career exploration
- Locating relevant online resources
 
Qualifications
Must be a current sophomore or junior and plan to be on campus for the entire 2021-22 academic year. Please note that you must also be available for a paid full week of PCA training before classes begin.

We are looking for students who:
--Can commit 5-7 hours/week
--Are strong communicators, both written and verbal
--See themselves as leaders who take initiative
--Have a strong interest in assisting their peers and providing access to information and resources
--Have the ability to work independently and also to collaborate with their peers and/or Loeb Center staff
--Think creatively
--Are organized and detail-oriented
--Interested in mission-driven work
