Loeb Center 2021-22 Employer Engagement Intern
The Loeb Center for Career Exploration and Planning is seeking an Employer Engagement Intern to help support recruiting initiatives for students.
This position exposes the student-intern to a variety of careers, employers, and opportunities across all industries/fields. The intern is an instrumental member of the team, representing the Loeb Center at on-campus and virtual events, interfacing with external constituents, and helping to manage back-end Handshake job approval processes. This position is ideal for a student considering a career in Human Resources/Talent Management, Business, Branding/Marketing, Communications, and/or Entrepreneurship and will report directly to the Loeb Center’s Assistant Director of Employer Relations.
The position is available in September for the full 2021-2022 academic year. The pay is $13.50/hour. Current first years, sophomores, and juniors are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be interested in continuing in the position for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Responsibilities include:
- Represent the Loeb Center at employer and graduate program information sessions, alumni panels, and career exploration workshops by greeting presenters, managing AV / catering / room set-up, and facilitating student check ins for attendance documentation purposes
- Review and approve pending job postings in Handshake, our online job portal
- Cover the Loeb Center front desk during staff meetings, receptionist’s lunch hours, etc.
- Represent the Loeb Center at our on-campus information tables and other events to help promote Handshake and other departmental initiatives
- Provide other administrative assistance in the Loeb Center office, as needed
Qualifications:
- Extremely well organized and detail oriented, with excellent follow-through ability
- Ability to manage time and priorities, juggle changing initiatives, and work autonomously
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills, confidence, and assertiveness
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable interacting with and reaching out to staff, faculty, alumni, employers, and student groups; willingness to speak in front of groups, as necessary
Expectations:
- Work 5 – 9 hours per week, which will frequently include evening and weekend events, tabling, etc.
- Professional presence at the Loeb Center and campus events
- Optionally, students may continue to work remotely during Interterm, handling Handshake job review/other administrative tasks
