Alumni-in-Residence: Sign Up for Office Hours with Dr. Gabriela Ulloa '15; First-year Resident Physician at NYU Langone

The Loeb Center's Alumni-in-Residence program is excited to offer 20-minute office hour appointments with Dr. Gabriela Ulloa ‘15.

These appointments present a fantastic opportunity to brainstorm how your diverse interests and experiences at Amherst – as a person, student, or organization member – can intersect with and inform a future career in the health professions. Whether you are a pre-health student who is interested in learning how to navigate this focus area at Amherst, or simply a student who is curious about what it is like to become a physician now, Gabriela is a knowledgeable and supportive resource.

Gabriela Ulloa ’15 is a first year resident physician in pediatrics at NYU Langone, working at both Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital and Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. She was among the group of medical students who elected to graduate early from NYU School of Medicine to join internal medicine residents during the peak of the COVID-19 crisis in New York City.

Gabriela’s mother is from Lebanon and her father is from Ecuador, and she grew up involved in both communities in Medford, Massachusetts. At Amherst, Gabriela cultivated interests in global and immigrant healthcare through professors and opportunities that expanded her passion for culturally competent healthcare. In addition to her interest in healthcare, she was involved in Amherst Dance for all four years on campus. Gabriela credits her success in medical school to the supportive relationships she developed on campus with professors, classmates, and other staff.
